Alex York

Alex grew up In Santa Cruz and started playing volleyball in 7th grade at B40. He then went to Harbor High where he played middle blocker all four years, including three years on varsity. While in high school he was on the first Main Beach boys team and played four years of club. Alex then attended Sonoma State University and played five years of collegiate club volleyball, finishing top nine every year and getting a NCVF silver medal in 2015. He was president of the club for three years. While at Sonoma he also played on the hockey team. After getting a degree in History he moved back to Santa Cruz and immediately started coaching Harbor High girls followed by both girls and boys at Branciforte Middle School, all of which he continues to do. He also has helped coach at Santa Cruz High and Main Beach. In his free time he likes to do landscaping and projects around his house.
